Rocktype Granite
Altitude 203m a.s.l
Named after a 27 ton boulder that used to be moveable by hand (alas not any more). A fine selection of rounded boulders in a tranquil wooded setting. Friction test pieces aplenty. The lower tier features a quarried face containing some hard and fairly highball problems through or round a large roof.
Drive south from Athens along Highway 78 to Lexington. There is a small stone sign marking the right turn to Shaking Rock Park.
