Wright's Rocks (Lower Churnet) Staffordshire, ENGLAND
Climbs 61 – Rocktype Conglomerate – Altitude 180m a.s.l – Faces N
Crag features
A superb overhanging piece of sandstone conglomerate, innudated with in situ pebbles, in many horzontal bands. Often in condition when the rest of the peak is not. The rock features many sharp pockets, positive crimps, the odd pebble, and several slopers. Undoubtebly the venue of choice in the dale with many classic problems, from Thorns through to Warchild. Recently (2008) the access to the crag changed with it being enclosed by a fence, 50m below the crag. This is a conservation measure. Climbing is still permitted here, but please use the gate as the sole means of access.
