with plenty of routes in the guide book "the cloud" is a good spot for people looking to climb low E grade routes but the bouldering is awsome, especially with the surrounding views on a warm summer evening. hard to access, be prepared to walk from the farm just left on the main round which goes over the cloud through the forest to the summit point. good pub on the road going back towards congleton.
I don\'t know if anyone else knows of this spot, i\'ve not checked to see if its in the Staffordshire Gritstone guide, but there is a small bouldering area at the very top of Bosley Cloud. If you continue walking left past the large crag area, its a triangle shaped rock staring straight down at you from the top of the hill. Looks a bit like an overhanging cave at the bottom of the face with a small carved out square in the middle. Not very much to go at, but there are one or two nice problems either side of the cave and a difficult problem directly up the middle line to a large pocket about 2 metres up. The landings are pretty poor in places with uneven ground and small boulders in the way. Also, some of the rock is moss covered. But the view is amazing and the area is quick drying. There are a couple of places to park on the road directly in front of the Cloud trail or further up the road veering to the left of the Cloud. If anyone else boulders here, please let me know. Martin
