Crag features

Pristine often Sharp Gneiss on the well travelled problems...expect to lose skin!!!

The rock is dirty and needs brushing so get a wire brush and clean holds and help maintain the block

Landings tend to be flat and good, a couple of pads is ideal.

There are hundreds of potential links and eliminates, not all are worthwhile. If in doubt of the main lines look at the number of logged ascents here or refer to the guidebook.

Approach notes

From the A9 just south of Inverness take the turning toward Fort Augustus B851 toward the Village of Farr, keep going through Brinmore untill you reach Croachy there is a Sign for Loch Ruthven Nature Reserve. follow this down the single track road and use the Reserve Car Park.

Alternatively from Inverness, go up behind ASDA on the Slackbuie brae and keep on it as it becomes the B861. Follow this all the way to Inverarnie, take a right and follow the road as previous descrimption past Brin, then right at the reserve sign to find the carpark

The road gets incredibly icey in winter, drive carefully and best to have winter tyres on!
