Pristine often Sharp Gneiss on the well travelled problems...expect to lose skin!!!

a couple of routes are slightly lichened and need cleaned.

Landings tend to be flat and good. 

The walk up to the boulder can be soggy so pack yer wellies.

 

 

Approach notes

From the A9 just south of Inverness take the turning toward Fort Augustus B851 toward the Village of Farr, keep going through Brinmore untill you reach Crouchy there is a Sign for Loch Ruthven Nature Reserve. follow this down the single track road{Look out for the Tree Monster on the bad Corner} and use the Reserve Car Park.....The big boulder up the hill IS Ruthven Boulder.

The map location puts this crag in the middle of Iran rather than Invernesshire.
