This large bouldering region is named for the Chief's Apron, the massive slab of granite that looms above the east side of Highway 99. This area stretches from the edge of the Grand Wall forest zones all the way to the Apron parking lot by the Mamquam Forest Service road. The rock in the APron Boulders is very similar to that of the Grand Wall. The main difference is the wide open, talus field ambiance. The rock here dries quickly after rain and provides some sun-soaked, late afternoon climbing on days that are just to frigid to be in the forest.
