Mixte Academie on Aiguille de la Gliere, lower buttress: D II M4, 170m, 4 pitches.
Great Scottish-style mixed climb. Helpful ice and turf, but need be frozen. Start up obvious chimney above the top station of the Index lift (10 min approach) and climb corners and mixed ground above, interspersed by snow fields. Top out on summit ridge, and descend from col after summit ridge and summit; either left or right are possible, but right down steep gully brings you back to bottom of climb and your stashed skis.
