Back Tor is rather like a small version of Mam Tor, but with a more benign and friendly character. The big plus point is that it faces northwest and so freezes more readily, but vegetation is more copious.
Park in the hamlet 500m east of the railway bridge, which you pass under when coming from Edale. Walk back under the bridge and follow paths to the face. There are two features that are of interest to climbers: The Gully and The Face.
