When viewed from the summit of Pingora, the knife edge arete which works steeply and dramatically up the Wolfs Head looks terrifying and certainly a realm away from VD or Ms climbing. On closer acquaintance the technical difficulties ebb away, the beauty and seriousness of the position and the route does not. One of the world's finest climbs.

βeta: Not sure which route is being described here. The text description suggests it's the East Ridge, but this is not 5.4. It's given 5.6 in Joe Kelsey's 1994 guidebook which we used when we did this in 1996. It is, of course, excellent!
