Crag features
A wide selection of routes with both Sport and Trad options.Sport routes vary from grade 2 sport to grade 6b.
Trad routes are all graded at Severe.
Approach notes
Park in the centre of town car park - behind the Duke Of Gordon Hotel where the medical centre is. Cross the grass and go up some steps onto Tait’s Brae. Follow the road uphill for 100m to a fork, and go straight ahead (signposted to Creag Beag Summit). Before the first house, turn left onto a path into the woods. Follow this for 300m, ignoring a right turn (currently with a closed sign). Just after a little zig-zag, turn right onto a smaller path leading to the foot of the crag. 10 minutes.
Access Advice
After the storms last year there have been significant numbers of fallen trees and access from the golf course car park is now extremely difficult. Alternative option is to park in the centre of town car park - behind the Duke Of Gordon Hotel where the medical centre is - see Approach Notes.
| Some disappointing bolting on what should be trad routes and bolts in reach of trad lines. And scratches from the person that winter climbed black widow and recorded it as such in the logbook are clearly seen and I would hope discouraged. | This is a fantastic little crag, particularly for beginners or those getting some first leads in. Whoever has developed it has really put some thought into it. We appreciated the easy micro slab and low anchor setups with plenty of instructional opportunity. The tree slabs are great for introducing someone to leading. PeteY - 04/Apr/23 |
