Discovered in the 1980s, then forgotten for decades. Impressive and atmospheric, best visited in summer.
From St. Just, drive north 0.3 miles to Nancherrow and, at the bottom of a dip in the road, turn left onto a narrow road. Drive along the road until it becomes unsurfaced - ignoring left turns - continue until a slight hill is encountered and a parking bay on the right. Park here (or carefully a little further on).
Walk up the track and take the left fork at a junction. Follow the track and footpath until it rounds a bend to reach two small quarried bays. Follow the path north from here, over a stile, to skirt the rim of a wide zawn. Turn left, crossing the remains of a fence at a second stile, and go out onto the spur, which forms the north side of the wide zawn. Follow the spur down, then veer right to the head of Echo Zawn.
