Fideal crag from the Loch © peter.clarkson1
The crag stays dry in light showers, faces SW and will be a good early and late season venue. The longest routes at the crag are 15 to 20 metres.
The sheltered naturemeans it isnt a good choice for high midge season
Please note - the small 'biners on the routes over the loch are to ensure when you pull your rope through, it doesn't fall in the loch, and get devoured by the resident monster - the Fideal
The best parking is before you get to the Loch Maree Hotel (coming from Kinlochewe). On a sweeping right-hand bend there is a large parking area on the left opposite a house, walk back down the road a few minutes head through a gate on your right and more or less follow the stream (it's on your right-hand side) to Loch na Fideil. Note to dog owners; cows are sometimes kept on the hillside.
