Climb the wall one metre left of the chimney. Eliminate and escapable to The Old Ways on the right. Top out using a tree root. Tree belay. Descend to the left next to a crumbling dry stone wall.

βeta: The E3 grade implies you ignore the narrow horizontal slot in the middle of the wall to the left of the route that could take a nest of small wires and micro-cams: if these are any good it would drop the grade to E2 or even E1. The route is pretty clean though still gritty. There is a good exposed tree root a little back from the edge not visible from below for topping out. | ||
