Hollow Caves Bay is one of those mad places that you'll just have to delve into at some point, mainly because it looks so damn exciting from the top! The classics are manifest, and include such forays as Galactic Glory (HVS), Super Galactic Hammy (E2), Gravy Train (E3), Jabberwock (E5) and San Simian (E8). The routes are generally steep and sustained, the gear is mostly good, and the geology is an absolute delight, although a little familarisation and care is required on your first visit, especially with regard to tides and the various traverses down at sea level. The Box Zawn (western) end of the bay provides a wealth of sustained three-star climbing in the higher grades, with the eastern end, accessed by abseil through the amazing Great Central Hole, giving stunning routes on a series of outstanding pillars.
Approach from St. Govan's in 20 mins.
