Belay platforms - not for sunbathing! © Paul Sagar
Want to belay from floating platforms, with well-bolted climbs, on clean gneiss, overlooking a tranquil alpine lake? Then look no further! A delightful little crag, mostly of easy climbs (F4 - 5's), but a smattering of harder things dotted about. An excellent spot for a summer evening, and to take kids. Cool off by jumping directly in the lake. What's not to love?
Park off the 98 just north of Döbriach. The signs in German say the area is specifically for climbers! There is a topo afixed to a public notice board, which is very useful (although a couple of variants to routes have been added, which aren't listed). Hop over the wall and follow the klettersteig down to the floating belay platforms.
Acces is reserved for climbers, and the signs indicate that you have the right to kick sunbathers off. Seriously.
