Restricted Access
Gate for Canto Cochino opens at 9 a.m. Once the gate is open follow the road through the forest to its end where there is a large car park and Bar. Gate closes at 10pm - Dont be late!!Also you should check seasonal bird bans, ask the rangers at the main entrance for Canto Ccochino (if they are there)
There is no restriction at the El Tranco car park, and no barrier - you can access all the park from here but its a longer walk!
Rockfax Description
An epic outing up the right side of the cliff.
1) 5a, 30m. Climb up the left-facing corner past some bolts to a belay below where it goes left.
2) 5b, 30m. Move up and right under the overhanging corner until you can move up a chimney (mid-to-large cams) to a belay just short of the top of the tower.
3) 3a, 25m. Move up and right to the top of the tower and then make the alarming but easy traverse up and left past a bolt to a bolt belay.
4) 5b, 30m. Head straight up the wall past one good and one not-so-good bolt. Up and left is a cam placement, from here traverse boldly out right to reach a bolt belay.
5) 6a, 45m. Head up the wall passing a bolt to gain a large break and climb the groove in the bulging wall above - bolts to easier ground and the belay. © Rockfax
UKC Logbook Description
V-, V-, III, V, V. Bolted but hardly a sport route, other than the first pitch the bolts are few and far between.
