All bolts on the East Face and the final pitch of Gweilo were chopped during protest banner removal in 2020.

35m.

Hong Kong Rock Description
35m. An eye-popping line and the head spinningly exposed free version of the old aid-line Gerbolt. Follows most of the original aid route and is a contender for one of the best routes in Hong Kong. The line was re-bolted in 2016 and is considerably less scary than it used to be. A hold was broken on the crux in 2017 so the climbing is now harder than it was previously. Formerly described as a single- pitch, the rope drag would leave anyone in a decidedly unbalanced state so belay is taken at approximately 2/3rds height.
1) 7b - 25m - 16 Bolts. From the belay step right and climb the arete to the top of the obvious groove. Swing right and traverse several metres until hard moves lead up the wall to better holds. Move back left on to the arete, engage turbo and push on to a sloping ledge and bolt belay.
2) 7a - 15m - 9 Bolts. Haul off the belay ledge via a large crack and push through bulging rock to regain the arete. Climb up the arete slightly then make difficult moves right across the wall to a better hold and final crank to gain easy ground and an exuberant finish. © Hong Kong Rock
