The Chute Neigette site is a jewel known for a long time by Rimouskois. The forest, the water and the sunshine make it a perfect site for beautiful summer days. The wall is made of medium quality limestone. The main wall is a large slab reaching 35 m high and offering an almost infinite number of climbable lines. The first routes of the cliff were equipped by Benoît Marion. The site was then developed more recently by Les Grimpeurs de l'Est.
From the carpark walk down hill, across the bridge and turn right. Head upstream, the waterfall soon appears, the longest routes are closest to the pond on left of the falls.
WARNING !!!
The rock is of poor quality in some places and can cause rock falls. Although the local group have recently clean the top, and face.
Locals have been using the site for many years for swimming and other activities, it is important to encourage them to stay at a safe distance from the wall when climbers are active there
Most routes now have staples or ring bolts for lowering off. DO NOT use these for top roping, install your own equipment.
