Rocktype Limestone
Altitude 2038m a.s.l
Faces N
Looking South, the north face of Pico Faro is clearly visible from the top of Puerto de Vegarada; with its distinctive rocky buttresses and couloirs splitting the face.
Pico Faro marks the boundary between León and Asturias in this part of the Cordillera.
From the top of Puerto de Vegarada, park by the disused Mesón (Inn). Head South, always aiming for the climbing objective, clearly visible during the entire approach. Early on head for a small col between rocky outcrops, after which you will leave a picturesque waterfall on your left. Two hours at a leisurely pace will take you to the entry of the couloirs.
