An excellent limestone outcrop that is well protected in the most part with modern bolts. Some of the classic routes are polished but experiments with adding friction paste to some footholds has prooves successful! There are lot of great sectors hidden in the trees and it is worth buying a copy of Bourgogne A Vue before visiting! If you are there at dusk, keep quiet and keep a watch out for the Badgers or Blaireau!
Park beside the canal (a good place is under a large Oak tree) and the crag is literally across the road and about a ten second walk through the woods. It can be tricky to identify some sectors but the larger areas on the far right can be easily seen from the road!
Lovely crag in beautiful setting; good grade range, nice pocketed limestone, extremely easy access. Well worth a day or two here en route to or from south of France. jamiev - 11/Apr/11 |
