A popular mountain for hiking in summer and skiing in spring, easily accessible from Longyearbyen via Larsbreen glacier.
Summit ridge hosts the highlights with a short scramble/ climbing up to Mod to reach the highpoint.
Etymology:
The Troll Stone, Troll (from Norsk folklore), a supernatural being/ ogre.
Approach notes
Easy access by foot, ski or snowmobile up Larsbreen (Lars Glacier) Trollstein is noticeable by its prominent stacked summit blocks.
