As Grimer inimitably puts it "Famous the length and bredth of his house for an audacious solo of one of America's hardest routes, El Cap's mighty Reticent Wall, Andy could unjustly be called one of the world's top mountaineers. In 'Higher than Everest', the pot bellied powerhouse will bring us tales of poor placements, deep fist cracks and dubious protection. And that's just his holiday in Benedorm."
E9 6c is a film by Dominic Clemence, wherein Dawes and Redhead battle out ideologies over the first ascent of The Indian Face. "Top entertainment, and a portrait of two climbers who, more than any others, have expressed their emotions best through rock."
Turn up on Sunday 20th at the Brincliffe Oaks in Nether Edge, Sheffield at 8pm. Entry is £4. Directions and more info at the Ape Index website.
