Lucas Ménégatti has taken advantage of the favourable conditions at Fontainebleau making the 2nd ascent of Vincent Pochon's lower start to The Island, called The Big island and weighing in around the 8C mark.
Lucas repeated the original version in late November last year, but wasn't content with that. he kept working the lower start, which he felt was more logical.
After coming close twice during a late night session, falling just before the last move. and then again on the following day, he took a much needed rest day (it was raining) and came back to close the deal. He had already given up more or less, and was about to head home, when he decided to give it one last go. The rest is history. Here's a video from when he came close:
Lucas says this problem suits him perfectly and confirms the grade.
