Super strong Sheffield-based Neil Mawson has made an ascent of Parthian Shot at Burbage South, Peak District.

This gritstone route was originally E9 but the demise of part of the flake that gives a handhold and wire placements has broken, meaning the route is now harder.

Neil placed all the gear on lead which he felt was similar in physical difficulty to an 8b sport route. Neil's is the second ascent of Parthian Shot since the broken hold, following on from Ben Bransby (see UKC News).

We hope to have more info on Neil's ascent soon.

Well done Neil!
