New Giggleswick 8c+ for Jordan Buys - King of Thieves

Jordan Buys has recently put up a new link-up route in the Hollywood Bowl sector of Giggleswick North, coming in at 8c+. King of Thieves is an extension of Aladdin 8c, linking from this route across rightwards to the finish of The Jordanator (8b) 8b.

Writing in his blog, Jordan explained: "Getting up into the roof at the Hollywood Bowl and finding the extension to Illywacker (7c) possible was like knowing you had a prized sunflower seed in your hand. It did turn out good in the end but, as I clipped the belay of what then became Aladdin 8c, I wondered if I could go even bigger."

When trying to work out whether crossing towards the final section of The Jordanator would be possible, Jordan found just enough holds to be able to make a very long and steep link-up: "The extension added a lot of horizontal climbing to an already horizontal route. A few shake outs could be had along the way but these were all so core and leg intensive it sapped me for the tough finish, which proved to be the crux for me. Making it even harder, you now entered into the finish of the 8b wrong handed, so I was left with quite a gnarly finish."
