The seat belt is the thing bolted to the rock above the hollow above me. This is the crux. Clip it. If you fall off, the belt locks and all's well. If you grab the draw and gently put your weight on it - it drops you a metre or so!

I think, but I'm not sure, that it can be attributed to the ever resourceful Mike Law. Perhaps an Aussie might put me right on that...

yea it was Claw. i made the mistake of giving it a gentle tug before clipping, leaving me with a longer runout to the top as the damm thing wouldn't retract. Climbing's been banned for a while there now as far as i'm aware.

Didnt Claw go through a phase of bolting odd things onto routes?I seem to recall an old iron and a door(?!) @ Arapiles...
