I was thinking pretty much the same thoughts as I dug through the old pics.... but I think there's some sort of statistical lesson about risk/reward ratios to be learnt somewhere. And some phrase about old, bold but no old and bold - so this suggests that we (or me at least) are not bold. Which seems about right.

Nice. I remember the knickers and rugby shirt era. Is that a Chouinard axe there?

Thanks, not sure, but I doubt it. Just some sort of generic standard axe, they all looked pretty similar. Rugby shirts made pretty good mountain gear. But I don't think he's wearing ladies underwear.... :)
