A recent E8 at the crag by Richard Waterton, prompted me to dig out this old photo. Tony is making what is probably the first ascent [I'm not aware of any other claims!]. Note, my own records gave a grade of E2 5c, and not E1 5b as in the guide! Can anyone confirm?

I climbed this route the other day, and in answer to the question of the grade I would say it was E1 5b easy 5b moves but no let up and pretty steep.

I gave it a good(!) cleaning believing it to be the F.A. but later discovered that Chris Craggs had beaten me to it! I think I gave it E1 5B but that was forty-two tears ago!
