Good winter conditions for first outing of first purchase of good boots, ice axe and crampons for first tick of a winter climb. Sought out the hardest steps. Could have managed without crampons (partners managed) but it was fun scooting up short icy sections with them. I can see why two axes is needed to move on to propa winter climbing (which I'd now love to do!).
