That's the Pierre D Orthaz ( boulder and campsite). Snells was the other side of the track, next to the river. The field is a lot smaller now with the riverbank protection works levee, just visible in the background, top right. Happy days.

Ha ha great memories did that line of chalk marks in my baseball boots. . Came back next day with EBs and chalk bag and struggled to do it, August 1978 !

It just doesn't look right with all the grass and no hordes of unwashed youth egging each other on, tatty cars parked all over the place, wall-to-wall tents. I don't think I ever managed one of the proper routes, but I've never been any good at bouldering.

Interesting Rick, because in 1987, when we were there, the only tents were precisely where we are standing. There was no other field then.
