I like this almost abstract image. Also the only blacks are the figures, and the only whites the sunlit rim edge. I might be tempted to tweak the contrast slightly in 'Levels' if you have PS. The old photography adage for B&W was to get the blacks, black, and the whites, white, and b*gger the rest!

Fantastic shot, amazing lighting. I took one of (almost) the identical view a few years ago, and thought it looked dramatic......but yours shows the difference between ordinary (me) and extraordinary!
