Is this HDR as the foreground figure looks rather washed out. Perhaps it could be the light is reflected off the bright snow around the climber? I know I'm being picky!

Hi Sean, I can live with picky. No not HDR as I'm certainly not carrying a tripod up there! Lynne is moving and the contrast wasn't big enough to warrant it anyway. Just a little fill in flash to balance shooting straight at the sun. You always lose some of the contrast when you upload to UKC. Or perhaps I just overdid the flash a little :)

It can be very difficult to control fill-in flash outdoors, and obviously bracketing in a situation like this is awkward and not appreciated by your partner. It's still a lovely image James but I might be tempted to fix it in PS or similar.
