Ah, memories of my first Pyrenees trip 30 odd years ago. Ran up the nearest peak above the cirque and paid for it with heatstroke.

Yeah, me too, 1989. We stayed at a gite in Lescun, and the following day set off to do Pic d'Anie. After half an hour I tripped over a rock and fell backwards, knocking myself out cold on a rock and in the process somehow losing my compass. We beat a quick retreat back to the gite and never did the peak. A week later, after much rain and cloud, we gave up on the idea of a complete traverse to the Med. I'd love to go back to Lescun, beautiful spot.

Lovely spot. I fell asleep by a big boulder and woke up the next morning perfectly fine. Had a fab time on the GRP down to Cauterets and Lourdes.

Was there 5yrs ago, wonderful place. See the photo i added then, amazing vista from the hill overlooking the village.
