I,ve run out of mountain and climbing images to post so thought I'd go a little off peist, but still walking photos with this image. It's a seascape taken on a walk along Embleton Beach on the Northumberland Coastal Path at 2am. What you are looking at are Noctalucent Clouds, these can only be see at certain latitudes and at certain times of the year (summer) when the sun is in just the right position below the horizon to reflect off of these extremely high altitude 50 miles above the earth clouds. These clouds are so high they are only visable at night when it is dark enough to see the sun,s light reflecting of the ice crystals in them which would not be visible during the light of day.
