I think the M is the leftmost peak in the middle foreground,with the Petite Charmoz to it's right. You are close to taking it from the Peigne, or maybe the cable-car?

Ah, thanks, I realise now that that is indeed the M in the middle distance, so this must be taken from the North Ridge of the Peigne (which I attempted with John Syrett). It can't be from the cable car because I never went on it!
