What route were you on here?

Sorry to disappoint, the photo was taken from the old traversing path from Ogwen to Cwm Perfedd. The abundance of strangely shaped rocks gained this area the epithet, 'the Mushroom Field', which is still marked on th OS map. There is a short but evocative description of the area in the Ogwen Guidebook by Zzdzislaw Leppert (Climbers Club 1982) pp139/140. The 1992 Guidebook by Iwan Arfon Jones reprints Lepperts description verbatim. Whether there has been any updating since, I don't know.

Ah, cheers for the info. I have done a grade 2 scramble up there. I always wondered where the 'mushroom' name originated from.
