On 13th September 2013 G and J Surveys and companions from the SMC and The Munro Society took what must be the most accurate ever measurement of the height of Am Basteir's neighbouring Munro Top, the mighty Basteir Tooth. The result, confirmed by Ordnance Survey and now adopted by Munro list custodians the SMC, is 917.16m, or 3009ft. The Tooth remains comfortably a Top, though nearby Knight's Peak has now been demoted.
