Neon Pattern Drum by Jon Hopkins (listen in stereo!).

Have listened to it loads and found it to be unremarkable... Annoying, even. BUT the other day it came on and it synched with my psyche like a tuning fork! An epiphany! A delicate, ethereal and powerful experience! I played it again just now and it was average again. Now it's on again... It's ace!

The gift that keeps on giving; either that or some kind of temporary cognitive glitch.

Have a listen and report back!

It's a good track. It would be good to see it alongside a climbing film of someone getting into their "flow" maybe.

Incidentally (and totally unrelated apart from the mesmeric moves within the film), I watched The Alpinist yesterday... There's a powerful documentary told from the heart!

Tried the album and a couple of others as I've heard some good stuff by JH on 6music.

Promptly deleted it all soon after, except Neon Pattern Drum

I've go Singularity and Everything Connected in my Spotify likes. Neon Pattern didnt stand out for me.

Singularity is one of the best albums of the last few years, no doubt. I’d pick Emerald Rush as my favourite track. I got to see him play Royal Albert Hall, which was amazing.
