Best place to go in the USA

I'm wanting to go to the US in October and I'm wanting to get some ideas on where to go but not just for climbing but for kayaking , canoeing and to try my hand at canyoning as well. What I'd like to know is which state is the best for all round outdoor sport.

October in Utah (around Moab) would be perfect!
Indian Creek and Desert Towers, Green river for canoeing and climbing (check out the unearthed series of videos)
