Taking a trip to Pyrennes over half term, driving from Dover and thinking of breaking at least one of the journeys. No particular route worked out yet.
Can anyone recommend any diversions, minor detours that are good value ? Climb, bike or cultural fun and interesting stuff. Anything from a nice lunch stop to a day or two random amusement !

Ceou is a nice place to climb for a few days, great area and campsite below the cliff is also very nice, however as already posted it if over halfway in the journey
Although maybe a little too far North for you Troyes is amazing. Its pretty much en route and only a couple of miles diversion. Google it up as the medieval architecture is amazing.
There is a nice municipal campsite in St Rome De Dolan. It is at the top of the gorge with great views. It also gets the sun in the morning and evening, while those in the bottom of the gorge are in shadow.
You could be touristy and do the Gouffre de padirac and Rocamadour - just be aware that the gouffre can have massive queues unless it's early/late. http://www.gouffre-de-padirac.com/
Or you could take the funicular up the Puy du Dome if the vis is good.
