Hi,
We are heading to Geneva next week for a 10day climbing holiday with hire car.
I was looking for an update on conditions in the Valais Alps East & West, also the Ecrin & NE Italy/Dolomites areas too if anyone knows?
We are looking to climb classic AD/D routes.
Your help is appreciated, cheers.
Peter.
I traversed the Lagginhorn via the South Ridge (AD) on Saturday in excellent conditions. There is a full report and photos on the ClimbNow blog. The route was also climbed today by a British Guide.
All the best

Conditions in the Valais are generally very good. There is generally more snow than usual in most seasons (teams were still climbing the Triftjigrat well into late July).
Don't forget the hidden gems of the VS Alps like the Portjengrat, Arbengrat, etc.
