When it's snowy I put snow/weather reports for Mam Tor/Winnats (and a pic if I have one) onto Safariquip's facebook site when I get into work. I live up at 400m so usually include a temp reading for that height. http://www.buxtonweather.co.uk/ is another good source, particularly for road conditions.
Some crackers today - and always a very interesting feed. Twitter gets a bad press a lot of the time, but it's stuff like this that makes it really useful
In reply to dangle: Also snowing like f**k near Castle Naze with about 3 - 4" lying and even more in Buxton . Its also due to snow all day.
By far the best forecast + current snow updates for the Dark Peak is http://www.buxtonweather.co.uk/

All the main roads are fine this morning (and most were actually OK last night), but a night on the moors would have been a different matter so good decision to cancel. It's actually a cracking day in Castleton, still snow to the valley but softish (a bit of ice forming last night). +1.5C at 400m at 8.30.
Mam Tor currently looks like this: https://www.facebook.com/SafariQuip/photos/a.140055829357198.20601.12063993...
