As for people complaining about the lack of variety of people photos: no one makes a living just taking climbing photos, so climbing photos do tend to feature more of the photographers' friends (since that's who they go climbing with) and top climbers (since they're on photo incentive deals and are more willing to climb routes for photos).
In my experience most people just want to go climbing, not have a photographer on a rope next to them as they do the crux moves, or repeat a climb just because the light is getting good.
I've advertised on here for climbing models in the past - as have other photographers. But you often run into problems: peoples' jobs aren't that suited to taking days off midweek to get shots when the weather's good / people don't want their weekends movements dicated by a photographer.
no real answer - apart from take more photos yourself I guess. And, anyway, your average phone will soon have more MP than a D3, so everyone will be able to take great shots!
