Lots of nice snow remains in the North Face gullies although there are some tricky cornices to negotiate on the ups and downs. The east side of Carn Mor Dearg is also loaded in its upper bowl. It was (mostly) possible to ski back to the CIC off both Carn Mor Dearg and Ben Nevis with some legwork to link the lower elevation patches. The low snow was melting fast though.

Ta. Up 5, down 4, up 4, down 3 and 1 of us 6 downed 2. S'all numbers to me though. :P
In reply to moffatross:

Is number 5 still worth a ski? Haven't done it or no.2 though the entrance to that sounded interesting!

Cheers

In reply to graeme gatherer:

It was complete alright but I really wasn't looking forward to the long, winding side-slip over avalanche runnel, bits of fallen rock and avoiding the convex parts sagging down into the bases of the buttresses either side on the way down. I'm glad that when we topped out, no.4 and no.3 looked so much more temptingly skiable to the rest of my group.
