Anyone know the proper way to start one of these off without using a ball in the middle?

In reply to terry1974: Get some rubber bands and link them together to make a chain. Wrap it around itself to form a roundish lump. Then start putting bands around that.

Cheers,

Tom.

In reply to terry1974: tie lots of knots in a large band and just keep tying knots, then wrap the loose ends around the knotted ball, add further bands to form an even ball.

I have got two very large rubber band balls at home which are sum of six months temping a good few years back.

In reply to sutty: We're sad? How long did it take you to find items on paint drying?

In reply to terry1974:

Google paint drying then post suitable ones. At least there is an article on magnetic resonance imaging in there.

I've got one on my desk next to me- it's about 10cm dia. Made form the contents a large brown envelope full of elastic bands that I found in the reception area. The Post-Office don't let the posties re-use them on 'Health and Safety' grounds!
