Given that several of us completely failed to bump into each other on the LAMM, shall we try harder on the OMM? Assuming that I can find the overnight camp in the dark.

In reply to Duncan Irving:
Did you get the e-mail message about parking?

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Runners intending to register on Saturday morning should note that due to bad weather all parking will be on forest roads. Allow one hour from the car park to registration and another hour to the start. That’s 2 hours.
20 year club presentations by Ted Dance and Bob Astles will now be with main prize giving on Sunday: 1:30 ’ish and 3:00 ‘ish
Please forward this message as its only going our to all forum members.

Regards,
The The OMM Team.

Sounds like it'll be nice and damp : )

In reply to Anita:

I wonder if Ted Dance will be doing any of the route, it is a long while since I saw him

In reply to Beowulf: lucky you- i didnt get it at all. If your arriving on friday, can you put the car away on friday night? An hours walk to the start sounds a bit cruel to me How will people recognise each other as UKc-ers? we have a yellow slug tent (marmot home alone) which is pretty distinctive (only ever seen one other). How about the rest of you?

In reply to ceri:
The email only went (several times) to those registered for the OMM forums. Not sure why they couldn't have used the email list from the entries database.

If you're camping on Friday night, the carpark is adjacent to the campsite. It's only for those arriving Saturday morning that there's an extra hour's walk (though it won't take an hour, the walk to the start is 3km and they say that's an hour too!).
ceri 26 Oct 2006
In reply to Simon Caldwell: thank you! maybe they expect people to walk slowly to conserve energy!

In reply to ceri: "How will people recognise each other as UKc-ers?"

They'll be the ones with skinny legs, trying to get good wap signal for their mobiles
Etak 26 Oct 2006
In reply to Anita: bugger- haven't seen that email ... just looked on the omm site not mention of this.... we are hopieng to sleep in our van on the friday .... wander what all this means
 Simon Caldwell 26 Oct 2006
In reply to Etak:
Take a look at the map on the back of the programme - it shows two alternatives for Saturday parking, if wet or if dry.
Anita 26 Oct 2006
In reply to Etak: It's on the forums bit of the omm website.

You'll be OK, they are issuing canoes at the start I think.
ceri 26 Oct 2006
