I managed to get some extra holds for my woody, but they are pretty polished, so i was thinking of getting some course sand paper and give them some new life.

Does anybody know if this is a good idea or is there a better one, apart from buying new holds that is or making my own that is.

Many thanks.

Paul.

In reply to Danjou: Can't see why it would be a bad idea. Other option would be to build up on them with a course cement or resin mixed with sand?

good idea...

In reply to Craig Geddes: Of course I actualy mean *coarse* of course.

In reply to Danjou:

If you know anyone who would do it you could get them sand blasted with sharp sand.

Or power hosed with hot water if they are shiny with sweaty chalk coating.

In reply to Lone Rider: You can put them in the dishwasher to solve that one to.

they have been polished to wear and tear like rock.

so is there any texture left? or just a lump of shiny resin?

In reply to Danjou: If there's no texture left then putting sand and resin on sounds like a plan-it would surely work better than sand blasting?

In reply to sam the man:

sand papaer does not work, i tried it on a sample, what did work was to score the surface with a sharp object, this gave friction.

I will buy some resin and sand and give it a go.

Leave 'em the way they are and recreate some Stoney Middleton problems
