I'm looking at buying some good warm socks for winter walking. I really suffer with the cold. Any suggestions?

Third that, but then I work for anatom the UK distributors so I would say that! Seriously though the Mountaineering extra heavy is great. http://www.anatom.co.uk/public/products/smartwool-mountaineering-crimson/#

In reply to pammy: smartwool as well - I've got expedition ones which are really toasty I don't need a liner with them.

Not really about socks as such, but if you get cold feet don't stuff your boots so full of sock that they feel even remotely tight. Also wear gaiters (to keep feet drier, extra insulation and stops the cold getting to gap at the bottom of the trousers which cuts blood flow).
