So, with my christmas money I am going to buy a bouldering mat. w00t!

I want recommendations for my first bouldering ticks. I live right by Almslcliff Crag - perfect...

Indoors, I can manage most V0, V1 and some V2 and an easy V3. Which problems within those grades do you recommend at Almscliff/Caley rs/Caley/(Brimham)/(Ilkley)

Thanks in advance...

In reply to heidavey: The matterhorn at Almsciffe, only VB but an absolute classic!

Over at Brimham if you have the Yorkshire Gritstone Bouldering guide (very good guidebook) there's an area called "The Niche" problem 8 is superb.

Wish I lived near these areas

for starters,

Almscliff:

Morrell's Wall V2
Pork Chop Slab V1
Mattterhorn Arete V0, and the wall to the left V1
Back side of the Virgin Boulder V0

Caley:

Otley Wall V2
Low Pebble Wall V2 ish
Rabbit's Paw Wall HVS but i would say V1
the bit round the right side of Otley Wall, plenty of slabby problems.

this is not a comprehensive list by any means but these are the better ones
