Some woman from the Halifax just rang me (I figured it was about banks and the like as iv just turned 18). Anyway she started to sell me life insurance so I gave her the list of my hobbies (I still thought it was about banks) and even if I did want life insurance I couldn’t have it!(btw I don’t, good old NHS!) Apparently climbing is "statistically unviable to cover" lol!

Halifax called me a couple of years ago about life insurance. She couldnt get off the phone quick enough. As soon as I mentioned climbing she said we'd better leave it there.

This was before I mentioned mountain biking and sking!

I was going to tell her that I was thinking about starting bass jumping and that my current occupation is placing thermometers inside volcanoes and I plan to get into bear wrestling very soon!

In reply to a13x: yep, was trying to get life cover for my mortgage and admitted to cave and wreck diving and climbing, the guy said even if he could get me cover the premiums would be greater than my mortgage payments. didnt bother to mention i was thinking of giving paragliding shot as well.
In reply to a13x: Try having a motorbike as your only mode of transport working as a confined space specialist and industrial rope access then caving and climbing as hobbies

I have life insurance with my mortgage, if owt goes tits up at work then the missus can sue the tits off them and if I come a cropper on the bike then hopefully it wont be my fault and the other burke can fork out

definitely from the halifax? or did she just mention 'the halifax'?
quite likely a separate company who halifax have sold your details to - could actually have been anyone!

>I still thought it was about banks

you weren't exactly sure who you were taliking to and what the reason was and you were still giving out info over the phone?

next time someone rings you and you haven't asked them to have a think about who they are and what information they are requesting.

do you want insurance? did you ask them to call you?
don't even confirm your name to random callers, and don't give out birthdate, other security information or details about your life.

Quickest way to get rid of them is to tell em you're a suicidal terrorist addicted to crack..........
In reply to Simon22: phishing phone calls I just come onto them male or female, ask a female cold caller to touch her breasts and they soon eff off
