Bishop of Rochester, Nazir-Ali has received death threats and is receiving enhanced police protection (he has a direct-dial number for the front desk) after receiving death threats from Muslims following his article in the Telegraph warning that parts of Britain are becoming no-go areas for non-Muslims.

Nazir-Ali seems particularly hated by the Muslims, not least because he is the most outspoken critic from the C of E but also because his father was an apostate from Islam.

love the fact that 'enhanced' seems to mean you only have the front desk tel. no. of the local nick. He'd be buggered living here the 'desk' is unmanned between 6pm and 9am

The articles just mention he has been given a phone number and other "undisclosed enhanced protection". This probably means a weekly drive by and cup of tea with the forces finest nightw*tchmen.

In reply to winhill: There used to be an alarm that if activated would interupt the police radio thus resulting in an immediate response. I presume in the new age of tera airwave this still operates but I couldn't say for certain.
